Anaerobic Baffled Reactor

Document ID:
TDS-018

Anaerobic baffled reactors (ABRs) are septic tanks in series, where wastewater is made to flow through a down-shaft/down-pipe, and then distributed over the floor area where digestion is facilitated through inoculation with active sludge. Settling of the sludge particles are achieved through the up-flow movement. Components of the ABR consists of a settler that is integrated with the septic tank,a series of baffled chambers, and down-shaft/down-flow pipe.
